Atlas Engineering Group, Ltd. is currently seeking an Illinois Professional Land Surveyor (PLS). This position will be responsible for the direct oversight of various types of Land Surveying projects, including ALTA/NSPS land title surveys, commercial boundary surveys, topographic mapping services and construction layout projects. This individual will interact daily with field crew members, CAD team and other office staff to ensure timely projects completion.
Responsibilities will include but not limited to:
- Procure necessary research for survey projects
- Lead projects kick off meetings
- Provide specific direction and technical guidance to field crews
- Oversee field survey crews, including on-site management as needed
- Calculate, analyze, review and certify completed survey drawings
- Direct the writing of land descriptions and maps in accordance with standard surveying practices
- Interpret and review of Engineering and Architectural plans
- Qualified candidates will oversee ALTA, Boundary and Topographical Survey work, and be well versed in right of way, deed and easement document research and interpretation
Requirements:
- Current Illinois Professional Land Survey License (PLS) license
- Proficiency in MicroStation (AutoCAD a plus), Trimble Business Center, Trimble Robotic Total Stations and GPS
- Excellent people management, communication and team building skills
- The ability to effectively communicate with clients and staff
- Understanding of title commitments and exception documents
- Knowledge of and flexibility to work in the office and field as needed
- Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
- Valid driver’s license
